Join Wedgetail Foundation as our Community Engagement & Projects Coordinator
Wedgetail believes in a regenerated and thriving planet, where humans work to ensure the wellbeing of all species.
Our Foundation team in Tasmania is growing. We’re custodians of ecologically significant properties (like The Quoin) and we’re looking for someone to help activate these landscapes as places where community and conservation come together.
We’re hiring a Community Engagement & Projects Coordinator to help shape and deliver our community engagement strategy.
You’ll be the bridge between place and people — connecting our conservation work with schools, First Nations communities, local groups, and the wider public. You’ll shape and deliver programs that invite people to engage deeply with nature and contribute to its care.
This is a hands-on role for a natural organiser, facilitator, and relationship-builder. Someone who can zoom out to guide our strategy and lead our projects, and zoom in to host a school visit or coordinate a community planting day.

About the role
The Community Engagement & Projects Coordinator connects Wedgetail Foundation’s conservation work with the broader community. Reporting to the Head of Foundation and working alongside the conservation properties team, this role designs and delivers community engagement initiatives across our Tasmanian properties, including The Quoin.
You'll build strong relationships with local communities, First Nations groups, schools, and conservation partners to foster connection to nature and deliver meaningful conservation outcomes.
Grow with us
As a newly established Foundation, the role will evolve significantly between 2025 and 2027 — we seek a candidate ready to grow with us.
2025 focus: You will develop a community engagement strategy, plan and design smaller-scale events and programs that align with our current infrastructure capabilities. You will also manage projects that establish the foundation for future community engagement activities.
2027 vision: You will have developed and expanded our programming to support regular community engagement activities and facilitate on-site program delivery across our properties.
Note: this role is based in Tasmania, preferably from Launceston. Work from home is supported within Tasmania, but there is a requirement for regular travel to our conservation properties to support program planning and delivery.
